Emily gained her PhD from King's College London in 2018 where she worked with the Twins Early Development Study. The aim of her research was to understand the genetic and environmental contributions to educational achievement by using multiple genetic methods and investigating different elements of the school environment, including school type and school quality. Since completing her PhD, Emily has moved to UCL Institute of Education to work at the Centre for Education Improvement Science. She is building on her previous research into the causes and correlates of student achievement.
