Lecturer in Public and Social Policy, University of York

I have worked at the University of York since 2010, teaching postgraduate students in Public Policy and Management, with a particular focus on social policy, public management and policy analysis.

My research interests evolve around the conflictual nature of social policies and public services, and I currently conduct research on the role of self-employment in contemporary labour markets and the link between notions of popular sovereignty and the welfare state.

Before joining the University of York, I taught at Birkbeck College London (where I continue to work as an Associate Lecturer) and the University of Muenster (Germany), where I completed my PhD. My academic background is in Political Science and Sociology, subjects studied on a bi-national programme at the Institut d'Etudes politiques in Lille (France) and at the University of Muenster (Germany).
