Associate Senior Lecturer in Evacuation Modelling, Lund University

I am an Associate Senior Lecturer at the Division of Fire Safety Engineering at Lund University (LU). My main area of expertise is evacuation modelling, which consists in the simulation of human behaviour during emergencies (e.g. fires, terrorist attacks).

Prior to joining LU I acquired a multidisciplinary international experience by working as researcher at the Fire Research Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA together with the group who did the Federal Investigation of the 09/11 World Trade Centre attacks and the Department of Psychology I at University of Würzburg, Germany.

During my career, I have contributed in a variety of research projects in Sweden, Italy, Germany, Spain and USA. I have authored over 80 publications in the area of evacuation research and I am currently leading a Task Group of ISO TC92/SC4/WG7 of the International Standards Organization (ISO) on the development of a standard for the Verification and Validation of evacuation models.
