PhD Candidate, Geography, Wilfrid Laurier University

I am a PhD candidate studying the controls on thermokarst lake water balance in the Western Canadian Arctic. I make measurements of water level and discharge at some lakes, and also use stable water isotopes and GIS analysis to further understand the hydrological behavior of the lakes. To make such measurements involves spending months of the year living in a tent in the Arctic, from when it is -30 until the days when the sun doesn't set.
