Associate Professor of History, Middlebury

Febe Armanios is Associate Professor of History at Middlebury College. She is co-author with Boğaç Ergene of "Halal Food: A History" (Oxford University Press, 2018) and author of "Coptic Christianity in Ottoman Egypt" (Oxford University Press, 2011).

Her research focuses on comparative religious practices in the Middle East, particularly between Christians and Muslims, ranging from food traditions and ritual pilgrimages to pious media. She is currently working on a book project that explores the rise of Christian television in the region.
