Research is my niche! I work as an ethnographic researcher within public sector organisations such as the NHS, Social Services and Charitable providers. My work tends towards examining the processes of effective communication and knowledge sharing between different user groups, sectors and settings and between different professional groups.

My research skills lie in observational, semi-structured interviews, longitudinal and mixed methods studies such as Randomised Controlled Trials.

I am conversant with symbol based language sets to enable people to participate in research using ways which support their ways of communication.

I like to work in highly autonomous ways, always meet deadlines and am capable of turning around projects which may be operating sub-optimally. I can offer recommendations for improving practice and systems within settings in often creative but effective ways. Any recommendations are always based on analysis of the data.

I can provide consultancy support for organisations who may require in-depth knowledge of how their services and/or products are used in practice. I am currently working with an educational games company and with a European consortium examining how older people use technologies to secure employment. I welcome any disucssions about future collaborations.
