Francesco Sindico

Director of the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance, University of Strathclyde

Francesco Sindico is a Reader in International Environmental Law at the University of Strathclyde Law School in Glasgow, where he is also the Director of the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance (SCELG) and Programme Director of the Strathclyde LLM in Global Environmental Law and Governance. Francesco is currently active in international dispute settlement advising governments before the International Court of Justice. He has also provided support to the Scottish Government in the implementation of the Islands (Scotland) Act and is coordinating a global initiative on climate change litigation. Francesco is working on a monograph on transboundary aquifer and international law and is co-editing a book on the "Transformation of Environmental Law and Governance: Innovation, Risk and Resilience". He currently serves as Associate Editor for the journals Carbon and Climate Law Review and Review of European Community and International Environmental Law. Francesco is also co-investigator on the One Ocean Hub and is leading a programme aimed at primary schools that introduces sustainability using islands as geographical contexts.
