I have spent over 30 years working as an a physics professor in universities in Ireland. My research interest is atmospheric physics, specifically the upper layers above 80 km altitude. I enjoy lecturing to my students, and my courses usually involve electricity and magnetism in all its forms. I have been Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Vice-president at Maynooth University. I have also served as Chairman of the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland.
