Gavin Rees

I am a microbial ecologist who has worked for many years on projects relating to carbon and nutrient dynamics. I've worked on the microbiology of environments as diverse as high-temperature oil fields, waste water treatment plants, contaminated soil and groundwater, and freshwater systems. My most recent work on aquatic systems has examined how processes carried out by microbes affect the wider ecology of freshwater ecosystems like rivers and wetlands.
