Emeritus Professor in Applied Physics, University of Technology Sydney

Geoff Smith is Emeritus Professor in Applied Physics. He is renowned for contributions to science and technology in energy, coatings and nanotechnology and is a world leader in green nanotechnology.

Based at UTS since 1973, his solar energy work started in 1974 after a PhD at Monash University and two years at the University of Sussex, UK. Professor Smith has spent periods on renewable energy projects at Chalmers University of Technology, and University of Uppsala Sweden, The University of Houston, Texas and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, California, USA. His group has worked with large and small corporations from Germany, USA, Japan, UK and Australia.
