Geoffrey Norman Soutar

Geoff Soutar is Professor and Nancy Keegan and Don Voelte Distinguished Scholar at the University of Western Australia Business School. He is a Fellow and Life Member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management and was one of three academics appointed as an Inaugural Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy. He was the first business academic appointed to an expert panel of the Australian Research Council, a position he held from 2001 until 2004. He was given the Distinguished Researcher Award by the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy in December, 2008 for his contribution to research and an Australian Teaching and Learning Council Citation for an Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning for more than thirty years in August, 2008. His present research interests include the marketing of services, especially professional services and satisfaction measurement. In recent years he has had a particular interest in customer service, service quality and its impact on organisational success. From this has evolved a long term study of value. He has also had a long term interest in tourism, dating back to research undertaken into the America’s Cup.
