Dr Gerasimos Chatzidamianos

Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Manchester Metropolitan University

I'm an Experimental Psycholinguist with an MPhil and a PhD from the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Cambridge, UK. I am also a Qualified Psychology Practitioner (Department of Psychology, University of Athens, Greece), and a Qualified Teacher in Special Education.

Some of the positions I've held: Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Seattle at Athens, Greece; Research Fellow at the Pedagogical Institute of the Greek Ministry of Education; Research Associate at the Department of Special Education of the University of Thessaly; Psychologist/Psychometric tester at the 251 Air Force General Hospital, Centre of Aviation Medicine, Athens, Greece. I was one of the members of the trans-disciplinary team, who designed, developed, and implemented the Family-Centred Early Intervention Programme of the National Institute for Deaf People in Athens, Greece.

Prior to these posts and back in the UK, I was a Research Fellow at the Deafness Cognition and Language Centre, UCL; a Visiting Lecturer at Newman University College, Birmingham, and a Psychology Instructor at the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Cambridge.

After a 4 year appointment as a Senior Research Associate at the Spectrum Centre for Mental Health Research and the 1st Lord Milo Douglas Memorial Fellow, I was appointed Lecturer in Research Methods at the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme, Lancaster University.

I am now a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the Department of Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University.
