I’m a geologist and vertebrate palaeontologist with interests in island faunas, the evolution of elephants, taphonomy, megafauna extinctions, and human-fauna interactions. My research is mainly focused on SE Asia, in particular Indonesia, where I have participated in many research projects since 1985.
I am leader of the So’a Basin research project in Flores, Indonesia, and have also been involved in paleontological and archaeological excavations on the islands of Sulawesi, Timor, Sumba and Java in Indonesia, and Luzon in The Philippines.
