Current Research
The use of digital technology in rural landscapes.

Conflicting objectives in deer management exist due to the diversity of stakeholders and issues that are involved. Each of these objectives and the processes they involve has different impacts on the land use strategies of upland areas. Habitat assessments are recognised as an important tool to relay the impact that deer have on the landscape. However, it is only a minority of interested parties that are able to use the ecological knowledge attained from these assessments. There is also a lack of integration of ecological and inherent knowledge when establishing future management objectives. This study aims to establish whether digital tools can have a role in facilitating knowledge exchange between stakeholders to enhance future sustainability within this area.
