Giovanni Di Virgilio

Research associate, UNSW Sydney

Giovanni is interested in how meteorological processes operate at multiple spatial and temporal scales to control air pollution events, and how this influence is mediated by topographic variation and characteristics of the urban environment. His current research focuses on the pollutant emissions from bush fires and hazard reduction burns to help develop a tool for forecasting the air quality risk of proposed hazard reduction burns in the greater Sydney region.
