Glenn Morgan

Personal profile

Glenn Morgan is Professor of Management. He was previously Professor at Cardiff Business School (2010-2015) and at Warwick Business School (1998-2010: Professor from 2004).

In 2014, he was Velux Guest Professor at the Department of Business and Politics, Copenhagen Business School. He has been visiting professor at the Sorbonne Business School, Paris, LEST at the University of Aix-Marseilles, the Wissenschaftzcentrum, Berlin and the University of Alberta Business School. In 2014-15, he was President of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE). Glenn graduated in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and pursued graduate studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of Essex.

Research

Glenn’s main areas of interest are in the impact of globalization on different forms of capitalism.

He has published a range of edited books, journal papers and book chapters on the impact of multinational firms, global professional service firms, financialization and transnational communities of regulators and social movements on institutional change, inequality and elite formations in different forms of capitalism in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Current research is focusing on the interaction of institutions and new innovations in the primary, manufacturing and service sectors in emerging economies in Latin America and Asia.

His papers have appeared in a range of journals including Organization Studies, Organization, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Socio-Economic Review, Economy and Society.

From 2005-2008, Glenn was Editor of the journal Organization; he is on the board of Journal of Professions and Organizations, and Critical Perspectives in International Business.
