Graham Braithwaite

Director of Transport Systems, Professor of Safety & Accident Investigation, Cranfield University

Professor Graham Braithwaite is Director of Transport Systems and Professor of Safety and Accident Investigation. He is Programme Director for Cranfield University's Accident Investigation courses. He is particularly involved in the development and delivery of training to transport accident investigators which includes curriculum development, the use of simulations in teaching and the development of new techniques for investigation.

Graham is also involved in the development and assessment of safety culture within aviation. He regularly speaks at international symposia and conferences on the topic (such as the Royal Aeronautical Society, Shell Aircraft, CHC Safety & Quality Forum) and sits as the independent non-exec on the TUI (Northern Region) Airways Safety Review Board and as Safety Adviser to the British Airways Board.

Graham is regularly called upon to provide expert advice on aviation safety from organisations including the news media (e.g. BBC, ITN, ABC), the aviation industry and the House of Commons Transport Select Committee.
