Harriet F. Senie

Director of Museum Studies, City University of New York

Harriet F. Senie is Director of the MA program in Art History and Museum Studies at The City College, CUNY, New York. She is also on the art history faculty of The Graduate Center, CUNY. She is the author of numerous articles and several books on public art, including The "Tilted Arc" Controversy: Dangerous Precedent? and the forthcoming Memorials to Shattered Myths: Vietnam to 9/11 (Oxford). She co-edited the anthology Critical Issues in Public Art and is currently co-editing the forthcoming Companion to Public Art (Wiley Blackwell). She is the co-founder of the organization Public Art Dialogue and co-editor of its journal of the same name. Previously she was Associate Director of the Princeton University Art Museum and Director of the Amelie A. Wallace Gallery at SUNY, Old Westbury. She also was art critic for the New York Post.
