Heather E. Mooney

Assistant Professor of Sociology, Northern Michigan University

Heather E. Mooney received her PhD from the Department of Sociology at Wayne State University, specializing in inequality studies and qualitative methods. Her dissertation was about adults who were former “troubled teens” discussing their experiences and perceived impact of attending a therapeutic boarding school anywhere from four to twenty years ago. From 2010-2022 Dr. Mooney taught a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology at Eastern Michigan University.
