Manager Centre for Applied Risk Management (UARM) and Associate Professor Risk Management, North-West University

I am the Manager of the Centre for Applied Risk Management (UARM) at the North-West University (NWU) in South Africa. At UARM, we focus on the qualitative aspects of risk management.
My academic career started with an MSc in Physics (NWU), followed by an Honours degree in Psychology (Stellenbosch University) and a PhD in Social Science at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam. I have worked at Stellenbosch University, University of Limpopo and am currently working at the North-West University.
My work as a researcher at the CSIR was followed by space systems simulation, software systems development and project management in the financial industry. I returned to academia in 2011 to set up UARM and to establish our qualitative Masters Degree in Applied Risk Management plus our behavioural risk management research programme, where we focus on risk management culture related research projects.
