Hesam Kamalipour

Research Fellow at Monash Art, Design and Architecture, Monash University

Hesam Kamalipour is a Research Fellow working on the RISE (Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments) Program at Monash University. He has previously served as a Research Assistant in Urban Design at the University of Melbourne and a Doctoral Academy member at Melbourne Social Equity Institute. His research focuses on the challenge of understanding the morphologies and incremental transformations of informal settlements in a global context by exploring multiple case studies of informal settlements and upgrading processes in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and South America.
