Senior Lecturer in Sports Biomechanics, Cardiff Metropolitan University

Ian is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Biomechanics at the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences. Having spent his childhood and teenage years slowly coming to the realisation that he wasn't going to be the next Ian Wright, Alec Stewart, Rory Underwood or Roger Black, he decided to turn to the study of sport performance. Having completed BSc and PhD studies at the University of Bath, he has worked at Cardiff Metropolitan University since 2006. His research interests cover understanding the mechanisms that underpin elite sprint performance, identifying optimal approaches to train for sprint performance, and developing novel methods for rigorous applied measurement of sports performance.
