Ian McKay is Director of the Wilson Institute for Canadian History at McMaster University. He is working on a study of C.B. Macpherson and the meaning of liberty in the 21st century. He has published books on tourism and culture, labour history, and the history of the left, with an emphasis on Canada but with a transnational orientation.
