Professor in Molecular Sciences, The University of Western Australia

After a PhD in Edinburgh, I worked in France's National Agronomy Research Institute (INRA) from 1988-2005. In 2006 I was awarded a WA State Premier's Research Fellowship and moved to Perth to become the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology. Currently, I am an ARC Laureate Fellow in the second incarnation of the Centre. I was selected as ‘Scientist of the Year’ in the 2014 WA Premier’s Science Awards and elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2015.
