James Corum is an American military historian and the author of eight books on military history and counter-insurgency.

He has published extensively on strategy,military history, counterinsurgency, military education, Baltic security issues and is an internationally recognized expert on military airpower.

Before joining Salford in 2014, he was Dean of the Baltic Defence College, the school for higher military education of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Corum is a retired lieutenant colonel with a background in intelligence.
