Professor of Financial Decision Making and Director of the Centre for Risk, Banking and Financial Services, University of Nottingham

James Devlin is Professor of Financial Decision Making in the Department of Marketing at Nottingham University Business School. He is also Associate Dean of the School as well as Director of the Centre for Risk, Banking and Financial Services. . After graduating with a degree in Economics, Jim worked in the financial services industry for Lloyds Private Banking for six years, before joining the University of Nottingham in 1991. He completed his PhD in 1996 and has subsequently been involved in research funded by a number of bodies including the Economic and Social Research Council, the Treasury, Financial Services Authority, Financial Services Research Forum, the Office of Fair Trading, and others.

Jim has published over 90 journal articles and conference papers covering decision making, marketing and policy issues in financial services, as well as marketing financial services and other marketing issues. James has also worked at Cass Business School (1998-2000) and the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in Kuala Lumpur (2000-2003).
