James Sommerville

Professor James Sommerville is a Chartered Surveyor and Builder with extensive academic and consultancy experience both in the UK and the Middle East. He is Chairman of the Chartered Institution of Builders and also Chair of the Herald Property Awards. His research includes work on the management of construction enterprises and, in particular, people within construction organisations and the impact of change upon human resources. Within this remit is research on Corporate Strategy allied to construction enterprises and the wider construction community including quality and defects in buildings. James also has a particular interest in innovation in construction and micro-enterprise business.
