Janae earned a BS (2004) in Chemical Engineering and a MS (2008) in Civil Engineering from Ohio University where her early research at the Biofuels Research Laboratory focused on algae for carbon sequestration, gasification, and biodiesel. She also received her MS (2010) and PhD (2012) in Environmental Engineering from University of Arizona. For her dissertation research in the Superfund Research Program she analyzed metal and metalloid contaminant transport around smelting and mining operations in Arizona and Australia. Her industry experience includes water treatment, chemical manufacturing, and pollution prevention.
