Dr Jane Dixon is a Senior Fellow at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. Her most recent books are the co-edited text When Culture Impacts Health (Elsevier) and a co-authored examination of the socio-environmental drivers of obesity, The Weight of Modernity (Springer).

Her research takes place at the intersection of sociology and public health, with a focus on the cultural dynamics lying behind ways of living.

She is particularly interested in how corporate strategy, government policy and civil society influence cultural transitions, and in the resulting social and health inequalities. The journal Agriculture & Human Values will soon contain a special section co-edited by Jane devoted to the ARC funded project, Seedling to Supermarket.
