Professor Hunter has work interests in eScience/eResearch, Semantic Web and Linked Data, Open Access to Scientific Data, and has undertaken funded research on Digital Humanities and Social Sciences, Biological and Chemical Sciences and
Environmental Sciences.

She is Chair of the Academy of Sciences National Committee for Data in Science (NCDIS), Vice-President of the National Executive Committee for Digital Humanities, and editorial board-member for a number of Web-realted journals.
