Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Law, Deakin University

Jane Kotzmann is Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Deakin Law School. Before embarking on her career in academia, Jane served as an associate in the inaugural Teach for Australia program. Prior to this, she was in private legal practice for a number of years, principally in commercial litigation.

Jane obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University and her Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Teach for Australia) from the University of Melbourne. Jane completed her PhD in relation to the human right to education and recently published a book on this topic (see https://global.oup.com/academic/product/the-human-rights-based-approach-to-higher-education-9780190863494?cc=au&lang=en&). Jane's research interests lie primarily in human rights and animal rights laws.
