Senior lecturer, UNSW Sydney

Dr Jarrod Ormiston is a Senior Lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Jarrod’s teaching activities focus on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and impact investing. His research focuses on working with social enterprises and impact investors to enhance their impact, supporting refugee and migrant entrepreneurship, educating entrepreneurs from marginalised backgrounds, and understanding the role of emotions in entrepreneurship. Jarrod's PhD explored the role of impact assessment as a transdisciplinary practice in the fields of social entrepreneurship and impact investment.

Jarrod has worked as a consultant to the NSW Government, Australian Government, the OECD and United Nations on entrepreneurship and education. Prior to his work at UTS, Jarrod worked an Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship at Maastricht University, a Lecturer at the University of Sydney, as an analyst in Growth Solutions at Deloitte and in various management roles in the Australian and Latin American non-profit and education sectors.
