After years of working in ecosystem restoration and seed conservation Jason commenced work inecological research with the University of Queensland.

His research projects include threatened species and ecosystems, threatened species distribution and their ecological requirements. He is interested in fire ecology and effects of changes to fire regimes – particularly where fire has been excluded, as well as effects of invasive species and other post-European threatening processes.
