Jeannette Bayisenge

Lecturer, Center for Gender Studies and School of Social, Political and Administrative Sciences, University of Rwanda

Dr. Jeannette Bayisenge is the Acting Director and a Senior Lecturer at University of Rwanda, College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS), Center for Gender Studies. She is also the Chairperson of Gasabo District Council. She has a Doctor’s degree in Social Work from University of Gothenburg, Sweden; a Master’s degree in Development Cooperation with specialization in Women and Development obtained from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul- South Korea and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from National University of Rwanda. Upon her appointment at National University of Rwanda in 2004, her research interest has been in the areas of gender and development and women and children’s rights. Her research interests have expanded to include land’s rights and gender, women and youth’s access to land and rural livelihoods, and land tenure regularization
