Jeannette Taylor

Associate Professor, Political Science and International Relations, The University of Western Australia

Jeannette’s research aims to promote a better understanding of and an improvement in the administration of public organisations. Her research on public administration and policy is largely divided into two streams. The first focuses on productivity and performance matters. She has analysed the effects of performance measurement and management systems on employees’ behaviour (e.g., public managers' use of performance information for decision making), and organisational outcomes (e.g., organisational performance). The second stream of research focuses on human resource management issues, such as recruitment, retention, and motivation. Jeannette has examined the effects of systems, policies, and cultures in public organisations on its employees’ work attitudes and actions. Her research interests also extend to public sector integrity, such as whistleblowing.

Jeannette is the Associate Editor of Public Administration Review. She also sits on the editorial board of several other journals: Public Management Review, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Australian Journal of Public Administration, and Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration.
