Jennifer Y.J. Hsu

Visiting Senior Fellow, UNSW Sydney

Jennifer Hsu is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Social Policy Research Centre, UNSW. She is also a Research Fellow at the Lowy Institute in the Public Opinion and Foreign Policy Program. She is currently working on a project which explores the intersections of Australia’s multiculturalism and foreign policy. After completing her PhD at the University of Cambridge in Development Studies, she researched and taught in development studies, political science and sociology in universities in North America and the UK. Her research expertise broadly covers state-society relations, state-NGO relations, the internationalisation of Chinese NGOs, diaspora studies and civil society, and she has published widely in these areas. She recently co-authored the Lowy Institute’s Being Chinese in Australia: Public Opinion in Chinese Communities.
