Dr Tasantab holds a PhD (Disaster Management) from the University of Newcastle. His research explored the flood risk adaptation intentions of informal settlement residents. The aim of the research was to explore how to move beyond short term and reactive coping to proactive and long term adaptation in flood risk management. He is interested in research that explores how to make land use planning effective in a changing climate, making informal settlements adapted and resilient to risks, and flood risk reduction. Dr Tasantab is currently a Casual Academic at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
He previously worked as a Development Planning Consultant at TREND Ghana, a WASH sector NGO. He also holds an MPhil Planning and Bsc Human Settlement Planning degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana.
