Jessica Williams

PhD researcher in networked art practices, The University of Melbourne

Jess Williams is a PhD candidate at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne University. She is undertaking her PhD research around networked art practices, primarily those which enact an transdisciplinary approach to collaboration, production and critical exchange. Jess also continues to work in her parallel allied health profession as a senior gerontological physiotherapist, working with an aged care specialist team and clinical caseload part-time. She holds Honours degrees in both the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Monash University) and the Bachelor of Fine Art (The Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University). She is an Australian reviewer for new media and technologically mediated practices at Furtherfield.org, and writes for art publications both academic and popular. Her recent topics of writing have ranged across virtual reality in healthcare, holistic art practices, and speculative technocultures.
