Lecturer in International Relations and Foreign Policy, Boston University

Jim Wallace, scholar, author, religious leader and businessman, is an adjunct faculty member at Boston University. As well, he is a Fellow with Boston University’s Religion Fellows Program under the aegis of the BU School of Theology and the Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs. He teaches and lectures regularly in universities in China including Fudan University and Shanghai University.

He is a consultant as the founder and CEO of Lacuna Group International. Previously he worked for over 30 years as a religious leader, government consultant and political advisor in the United States and Canada.

Jim is currently a PhD (ABD) candidate in Political Science at Boston University with additional studies at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. His PhD dissertation is entitled “Blowback of the Gods: The U.S. Government’s Covert Use of Religion as a Tool of Foreign Policy in the Early Cold War Years and Its Consequences.”

Jim is co-author of a forthcoming book with Oxford University Press – Smarter Than You Think: The Surprising Emergence of an Evangelical Intelligentsia in America – with Dr. Timothy S. Shah detailing the results of a three year, foundation-funded research project. He has also published articles in the Journal of Cold War Studies, the Review of Faith & International Affairs, the Journal of the Canadian Evangelical Theological Association, as well as op-eds and other public writings in the U.S. and Canada.
