Johanna Stiebert

Professor of Hebrew Bible, University of Leeds

I have an undergraduate degree (BA Hons in Hebrew and English) from the University of Otago (New Zealand), an MPhil in Hebrew Bible from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Hebrew Bible from the University of Glasgow. I have taught Hebrew Bible at the University of Botswana, University of Tennessee, and University of Leeds. My areas of interest are: self-conscious emotions (e.g. shame) and the Hebrew Bible, gender and sexuality in the Hebrew Bible, the family and the Hebrew Bible, and African-centred approaches to the Bible.
