Professor John Bartle has carried out extensive research into General Elections from a long-term perspective, since 1945. He has authored articles in The British Journal of Political Science, Political Studies, Electoral Studies, Party Politics, The Journal of Elections Public Opinion and Parties, the British Journal of Politics and International Relations, the Journal of Public Policy and Representation.

Other areas of expertise include party leader TV debates in 2010, party election broadcasts, public opinion and voting behaviour, party election broadcasts. John's research interests include voting behaviour; British political parties; the British judiciary.
