Jonathan Saunders

Research Fellow (Lead Games Developer), Sheffield Hallam University

Jonathan is a Research Fellow and Lead Games Developer at the Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime Research (CENTRIC). He graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BSc in Gamed Development in 2011 and gained an MSc in Games Software Development from Sheffield Hallam University in 2014.

Jonathan currently leads CENTRIC's games development research activity and is specialised in virtual reality training scenarios for first responders and humanitarian agencies. The AUGGMED project (http://www.auggmed-project.eu/) is a Horizon 2020 funded research project which aims to create a multi-agent counter terrorism scenario simulator using virtual and augmented reality technologies. Jonathan leads CENTRIC's responsibilities on the project which includes VR development, platform analysis and research activities. Jonathans research and development activities also encompass working with United Nations organisations including UNICEF and the International Organisation for Migration to create virtual reality training and experiences.

Before working at CENTRIC Jonathan managed serious games projects at the University of Greenwich as a Technical Manager and developed standard mobile games for Android and IOS with Games Faction.
