Joseph F. DeCarolis

Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering, North Carolina State University

Joe DeCarolis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NC State University. Prior to joining NC State, he was an Environmental Scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

His research focuses on the interdisciplinary assessment of energy technologies and systems to mitigate climate change. His primary interest relates to the development and application of energy system models to derive policy-relevant insight.

He has authored or co-authored over twenty peer-reviewed journal articles related to energy. His work has been cited by the NY Times, National Geographic, and Slate.
