Associate Dean for Professional Academic Programs and Student Success, Professor, Michigan State University

Julie Funk, DVM, MS, PhD is Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Success and a Professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU). She was formerly Director of the Online Master of Science in Food Safety at MSU. Her current major initiative involves transforming the veterinary medical curriculum at MSU. Her research interests are focused on the preharvest epidemiology of foodborne pathogens in swine and cattle and interdisciplinary approaches to One Heath Challenges.

She is a graduate of the MSU DVM program, earned a Master of Science from the University of Illinois in Population Medicine and a PhD from North Carolina State University Comparative Biological Sciences (Epidemiology). She was formerly a faculty member at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
