Dr Julie Leask is an Associate Professor in the School of Public Health, University of Sydney and Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Immunisation Research & Surveillance. With a background in nursing and midwifery, Julie has a Master of Public Health and PhD which examined the drivers and impacts of vaccine safety scares. Her postdoctoral research focuses on improving communication about immunisation.
Julie has been researching behavioural and attitudinal aspects of immunisation since 1997. Her more recent work has focused on influenza vaccination: public and healthcare worker perceptions, practices and media discourses. She is currently supervising three PhD candidates in this area including studies in paediatric and maternal vaccination.
