Justin Dillon is professor of science and environmental education and Head of the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol. After taking a degree in chemistry, he trained as a teacher and taught in six London schools before joining King’s College London in 1989. Justin’s research focuses on learning and engagement in and out of schools. He was one of the coordinators of the UK Economic and Social Research Council's Targeted Initiative on Science and Mathematics Education. Justin has recently been appointed to the UK’s National Curriculum Science Expert Group. He co-edits the International Journal of Science Education and was President of the European Science Education Research Association from 2007-11. Justin has co-edited a number of books including Bad Education and the International Handbook of Research on Environmental Education. He was given ‘The Outstanding Contributions to Research in Environmental Education Award’ by the North American Association for Environmental Education in 2013. Justin is a Member of the Council of the College of Teachers.
