Dr Kamal is Dean of Soran University's Scientific Research Centre in Iraqi Kurdistan. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Geology and a second PhD in Biogeosciences. Alongside his scientific research, his books and articles have explored Kurdish social history and the plight of minorities in Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan. The latter topic has been the subject of his presentations to European Parliament and other institutions in Brussels, France and USA.
