PhD candidate, University of Sydney

Dr Karen Waller is undertaking a PhD through the University of Sydney, with research focusing on the impact of blood borne viruses on solid organ transplantation in Australia, under the supervision of Professor Angela Webster, Epidemiologist at the University of Sydney and Transplant Nephrologist at Westmead Hospital, and Associate Professor Kate Wyburn, Transplant Nephrologist and Head of Kidney Transplantation at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Her projects have received recognition in the form of Young Investigator Awards at national and international conferences, including the International Congress of the Transplantation Society in Madrid in 2018. Karen has completed her Basic Physician Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia in 2019, and is currently studying full time.
