Kate Weisshaar's research focuses on gender, family and inequality. In particular, she studies gender inequality in the labor market and in organizations, through outcomes such as hiring, salary and promotion.

Weisshaar has a continued interest in quantitative methodology, including experimental methods, as well as family demography, poverty and inequality.
