Kathleen Stein-Smith

I have been honored by the government of France and named a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes académiques. I serve as Chair, AATF Commission on Advocacy. I am a member, ATA Education & Pedagogy Committee; member, CSCTFL Advisory Council; member, NECTFL Advisory Council; Sponsor, SCOLT. I have served as French Language Facilitator, Many Languages One World (MLOW). I delivered the TEDx talk, “The U.S. Foreign Language Deficit." Building on my doctoral research, I have written 3 books and numerous articles on the US foreign language deficit and foreign language as a global competency and have spoken at numerous professional conferences. I also have created and maintain a blog, "Language Matters."
